Gabon - International - The advantages of Commonwealth membership

Gabon had many advantages for joining the Commonwealth. These included its commitment to climate change and sustainable development policies, its decades of stability and commitment to stability in the subregion and the continent, as well as Gabon's commitment to human rights and gender equality.

However, membership in the Commonwealth does not bring anything in terms of economic exchanges or reduction of customs duties.
